81 years ago today, 156,000 Allied troops launched the largest amphibious invasion in history — storming the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from tyranny.
More than 2,000 Americans gave their lives that day. Each one a hero. Each one a reminder that freedom has a price.

As we mark the anniversary of D-Day, we honor their courage and their sacrifice. We also renew our commitment to the liberty that the heroes of Normandy fought and died to defend.
