🇺🇸 Modernizing America’s Defense

As a 20-year combat veteran, former intel officer, and current Air Force Reserve Colonel, I’ve spent my life serving alongside the men and women who keep our nation safe.

Every branch of America’s military has its proud traditions — and yes, the good-natured rivalries — but we all took the same oath: to defend this nation, uphold the Constitution, and never back down from a fight.

That’s the same mission I carry with me in Congress. And it’s why I’m working to ensure America’s military evolves as fast as the threats we face.

The problem: Our adversaries aren’t slowing down. China, Russia, and Iran are investing in low-cost, high-impact weapons — drone swarms, AI-driven targeting, and cyber warfare — all designed to outrun outdated systems and challenge U.S. dominance.

We can’t afford to fall behind. That’s why I fought to secure major wins in this year’s bipartisan defense bill to modernize how we fight, support our servicemembers, and strengthen the alliances that keep Iowa — and America — secure.

I joined House Majority Leader Scalise to break down how this bill keeps our military mission-ready. ⬇️

Here’s what we delivered in this year’s package:

💸 A 4% pay raise for every servicemember

📈 Smarter use of private-sector innovation to get the best tools into the field

🌍 Stronger alliances to sharpen our global edge

💻 Cyber safeguards to protect against hostile AI systems

🚀 Expanded access to cutting-edge defense technology for more communities

Bottom line: I’m proud to stand with those who’ve worn the uniform — and I’ll keep fighting in Congress to make sure America remains the world’s most capable fighting force.
