Nunn to Highlight Iowa Delegation Push to Bring a Flying Mission Back to Des Moines

— On Friday, October 2, Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) will hold a press conference at the Iowa Air National Guard’s 132nd Wing in Des Moines to highlight the Iowa delegation’s push to return a permanent flying mission to the 132nd Wing.

WHAT:
Before the press conference, Rep. Nunn will join U.S. Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink to tour the 132nd Wing, recognize the Airmen who serve there, and meet with Wing leadership. The tour will be closed to press.

Following the tour, Rep. Nunn will hold a press conference to highlight the 132nd Wing and his push to bring a permanent flying mission back to Des Moines.

Rep. Nunn, a combat veteran who continues to serve as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve, led an amendment in the House-passed FY27 National Defense Authorization Act requiring the Air Force to identify Air National Guard bases like the 132nd that are well-positioned to host next-generation manned aircraft. The amendment passed the House unanimously with the support of Iowa’s entire congressional delegation.
