Representative Zach Nunn Announces Service Academy Day

Des Moines, Iowa — Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) is hosting an information session for students, parents, and counselors to assist those interested in learning about or applying to one of our nation’s five military Service Academies.

“I’m honored to host a learning session to help Iowa’s students and parents learn more about our great military Service Academies,” said Rep. Nunn. “The process of applying to our Service Academies can be daunting for perspective students, parents, and counselors. We are here to provide the resources to empower every Iowa student who wishes to apply. I look forward to assisting the next generation of students that aspire to serve our country.”

The process to apply to a U.S. military Service Academy consists of applying directly to an Academy to ensure academic and physical standards are met while also securing a nomination by a United States Representative, United States Senator or the Vice President.

The information session will include a short program with guest speakers from each service academy: The U.S. Air Force Academy, West Point (U.S. Army), The U.S. Naval Academy, The U.S. Coast Guard Academy and The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Rep. Nunn and congressional staff will also be there to assist and answer any questions from students or interested parties.
