It’s National Rural Health Day

Healthcare is deeply personal, which is why I always fight to put patients first. No matter the location of Iowans, I believe they should have access to a healthcare system that offers more choice and more affordable options.

From Jefferson to Shenandoah to Ottumwa – and everywhere in between – there’s doctors, nurses, caregivers, and first responders that are doing lifesaving work. Today, we recognize those who step up when we need help!

As your Congressman, I’m working to ensure we have:

  • Access to excellent and properly trained healthcare workers in every hospital, urgent care, and general medical office.

  • Expanded investment in rural broadband so telehealth services are available for every Iowan.

  • Strong Medicare services because we need to ensure everyone who has paid into the system gets what they are owed.

  • Supportive home health services that can provide care where it is needed.

There’s no doubt that our country’s healthcare system can be strengthened, so I will keep fighting to prioritize the needs of Iowans and ensure everybody has affordable access to high-quality care.
