Unelected D.C. bureaucrats continue to create new red tape every day – without considering the impact on Iowa’s Main Street. According to a recent Small Business Administration report, in 75% of rulemakings – the process in which agencies make regulations – the federal government either ignores or underestimates the cost of regulations. That’s unacceptable.
That’s why I voted for the Prove It Act to require agencies to consider the costs of a regulation on businesses and create a system for small businesses to raise concerns with a regulation before it goes into effect. This will reduce costs for small businesses, ensure Main Street has a voice, and allow them to focus on creating jobs and innovating to better serve their communities.
This is a commonsense bill that will help Iowans as they continue to turn the key in the door each day. I’ll continue to fight for our entrepreneurs and family businesses!
