In Iowa, agriculture isn’t just an industry—it’s a way of life. That’s why I introduced the New Producer Economic Security Act, a bipartisan bill to help young and beginning farmers get the tools they need to succeed.
With the average farmer nearing 60 and nearly half of our farmland expected to change hands in the next two decades, we must act now to ensure the future of Iowa agriculture and bring the next generation into family farming.
This bipartisan bill addresses the challenges keeping land out of reach for the next generation of farmers by helping young and beginning farmers gain access to land, markets, and capital. It’s a commonsense step to secure our domestic food system, keep family farms strong, and ensure that those willing to feed and fuel the world aren’t priced out of the field.
Bottom Line: Agriculture is the backbone of Iowa. I’ll keep fighting to ensure that the next generation of farmers are successful!
