Iowa has one of the strongest traditions of military service in the nation. For the students ready to carry that tradition forward, attending a U.S. Service Academy is one of the greatest opportunities to serve our country — and the journey begins with a nomination from your U.S. Representative or Senator.
For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of wearing the uniform of the United States Air Force, and I continue to serve in the Air Force Reserve today. One of the greatest honors of serving in Congress is nominating outstanding young Iowans to our nation’s Service Academies because I’ve seen firsthand how military service builds character, develops leaders, and opens doors that can shape a lifetime of opportunity.
