Right now, I’m on my fourth 21 county tour of our community. During these tours, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with Iowans in all sorts of jobs who are working hard to make ends meet.
From manufacturing plants and fulfilment centers to union halls and convenience stores, one consistent concern I’ve heard is anxiety with automation and artificial intelligence replacing jobs.
That’s why I just introduced the bipartisan Workforce DATA Act to protect Iowans’ jobs from automation:
Technological advancement is good for society, and if done right, will make all of our lives easier. At the same time, we must ensure that workforce changes don’t eliminate good paying jobs that Iowans rely on.
Bottom line ➡️ I’m committed to embracing technological innovation while ensuring that automation is a tool to make work easier and more productive, not a replacement for the skills of talented Americans.
