In Iowa, our dogs are our family. We care a lot about our four-legged friends. Unfortunately, fifteen breeders in Iowa were named to a list of the hundred worst offenders in the dog-breeding industry.
Although those fifteen breeders don’t speak for the entire industry, we need to do more to ensure our four-legged friends are protected from bad actors who wish to do them harm. To add insult to injury, just last week 46 dogs were seized from a puppy mill right here in Iowa.
In Congress, I’ve led the fight to make sure man’s best friend and their owners have a voice through commonsense legislation like Goldie’s Act and the Puppy Protection Act. With all of this in mind, I want to know your thoughts. Are you concerned about protecting dogs from puppy mills and other abuse?
Ensuring man’s best friend has a safe home is something I’ve been fighting for here in Congress. I’ll continue to work across the aisle to ensure our four-legged friends have the love they need and deserve.
