I’m reporting to you live today from Des Moines where we just cut the ribbon for the brand-new Polk County Life Services Center.
A few weeks ago, we announced that we secured a $750,000 federal investment to help create this first-of-its-kind mental health center.
The Polk County Life Services Center will provide mental health and substance abuse support for struggling Iowans. The hope is that this community-based resource center will provide crisis intervention when Iowans need it most and help them avoid a costly emergency room visit.
Bottom Line: We can support folks in our community struggling with their mental health through innovations like this center. I’ll keep fighting to invest in resources to support our neighbors.
