Former intelligence officer Nunn to hold China accountable for acts against America
WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) today announced his appointment to the bipartisan House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Committee is responsible for assessing the threats to the economy and national security posed by the government of China and proposing plans to ensure a strong American future.
“As a former counterintelligence officer who operated against China, I’ve seen firsthand how the Chinese Communist Party is working to undercut the United States at every turn,” said Rep. Nunn. “Since my first day in Congress, I’ve worked to hold China accountable, and that is exactly what the work on this Committee will do. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to hold China accountable and ensure we have a long-term, thoughtful, and strategic plan to combat Chinese aggression.”
