Last week, the House passed the most pro-Iowa energy bill in a generation — and I fought to make sure Iowa’s biofuels producers, family farms, and energy innovators had a seat at the table.
Why it matters: Iowa is home to our country’s most productive agriculture and energy economy, but overregulation, canceled projects, and red tape have held the industry back while making America more dependent on China for our energy needs.
Here are a few of the key wins we secured for Iowa:
🌽 Extends the 45Z Clean Fuel Credit through 2033
🛠️ Delivers $500 million for biofuels infrastructure
🌱 Locks in multi-year tax incentives so Iowa biofuel producers can invest in upgrades
📊 Secures a pro-ag emissions scoring system that rewards Iowa’s low-carbon fuels
The bigger picture: Right now, China controls over 80% of global solar supply chains, critical minerals, and rare earth processing. If America wants to lead in the next century, we must outproduce, out-innovate, and outcompete Beijing.
This bill helps us get there:
🛢️Reopens public lands and offshore areas for responsible oil and gas leasing
⚙️ Invests in rural grid upgrades so producers can expand wind, solar, and storage
🧪 Restores R&D incentives that reward Iowa-led innovation in renewables and ag-tech
Bottom Line: We can’t afford to fall behind in the global energy race — I’m fighting to make sure Iowa is at the center of American energy dominance by getting this bill to President Trump’s desk.
