PTSD Awareness Day

Today is PTSD Awareness Day — a solemn reminder that for many of our heroes, the battle doesn’t end when they return home.

As a Colonel in the Air Force and a combat veteran, I’ve seen the toll that trauma can take. And as your Congressman, I’m working to ensure no veteran fights that battle alone.

This week, we also advanced critical funding in the House to support troop mental health, strengthen military families, and back every veteran on their path to healing.

Here’s how this bill will support our troops and veterans:

✅ Fully funds medical care and benefits for veterans
✅ Invests in mental health services and suicide prevention
✅ Launches the Bridging Rental Assistance program to end veteran homelessness
✅ Improves barracks and family housing for active-duty service members
✅ Blocks illegal immigration from draining VA resources

Bottom Line: PTSD doesn’t always show on the outside, but our commitment to those who served must be crystal clear. This bill puts real resources behind that promise.
