As a Colonel in the Air Force, I know that investing in our military means investing in the men and women who serve. That’s exactly what we did this week in our Defense Appropriations Act, which delivers a historic pay raise for servicemembers and equips our forces with the tools, training, and technology they need to stay ahead of evolving threats.
I led the fight to include two bipartisan amendments in this package that will strengthen our defense systems and put Iowa innovation to work:
✅ Support Iowa-built tech that powers wireless drone recharging on the battlefield
✅ Fund the next generation of GPS systems to keep U.S. troops safe and secure
Why it matters: America can’t afford to fall behind. From China’s territorial aggression to the fentanyl crisis at our border, the threats we face are real—and growing.
That’s why, in addition to this week’s defense bill, I helped pass major investments in national security and border protection as part of the Republican reconciliation package President Trump signed into law on the 4th of July.Â

Bottom Line: I’ll keep fighting to ensure our troops have what they need to win—and that Iowa continues to lead in building the tools that keep America safe.
