🌍 Iowa’s Seat at the Table

Iowa competes on a global stage every single day — and Iowa’s farmers, small businesses, and manufacturers need certainty to win.

Zoom out: Iowa farmers and manufacturers exported over $16 billion in goods to the world last year — from tractors and row crops to industrial chemicals. When those markets shift, or competitors put up artificial barriers, Iowa families feel it first.

That’s why we’ve spent the past three years listening to Iowa producers and bringing their priorities to the negotiating table in Washington and around the world — and why we held another roundtable with agriculture, manufacturing, and small business leaders from across our communities. ⬇️

The priorities Iowa producers brought to us are already delivering results:

🌎 A trade agreement with Taiwan eliminating tariffs of up to 26% on Iowa beef, dairy, and corn

21 Iowa-first provisions secured in the Farm Bill to protect and strengthen Iowa agriculture

🌾 A commitment from China to buy 25 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans annually

Why it matters: Iowa’s economy runs on global markets, and the people who understand that best are the ones shaping the policies coming out of Washington. As the Farm Bill heads to the floor and new trade agreements take shape, those conversations are how we make sure Iowa stays at the center of what comes next.

Bottom Line: From roundtables in Iowa to the negotiating table in Washington, it’s Iowans who are leading the charge. I’ll keep fighting to make sure Iowa’s priorities are the nation’s priorities.
