WHAT:
Rep. Nunn will announce federal funding secured for the construction of a new academic facility at DMACC’s Ankeny campus. The project will modernize classrooms and technology, expand student services, replace deteriorating infrastructure, and bolster hands-on training opportunities aligned with Iowa’s workforce needs.

This investment builds on Rep. Nunn’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Iowa’s workforce pipeline and expand career-connected education. In 2024, Rep. Nunn secured a $1 million federal investment for DMACC’s Transportation Institute Education Center to help train the next generation of CDL drivers and address workforce shortages. Rep. Nunn is also leading the PARTNERS Act, bipartisan legislation to expand apprenticeship partnerships between small businesses, community colleges, and workforce training providers — helping more students build career pathways tied directly to Iowa employers and economic needs.
