Relationships with our allies like Israel and Kosovo are crucial to our national security.
This week, I met with Israeli Consul General Yinam Cohen to discuss the importance of America’s support of Israel. He is the official representative of the State of Israel to the State of Iowa, so I was glad to speak with him about this critical relationship.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to meet with Kosovo Ambassador Ilir Dugolli this week. Kosovo is a sister state to Iowa, and in 2021, Israel and Kosovo established formal diplomatic relations. As noted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Kosovo was the first majority-Muslim country to open an embassy in Jerusalem.
Bottom Line ⬇️
- I have always been a strong supporter of Israel and will continue to do so in Congress.
- I joined the United States Air Force because I believe in the values on which our Founding Fathers created our country. In pursuit of peace and these values, there is no stronger partner in the Middle East for us than Israel.

- During my time in the Iowa Legislature, I had the honor of hosting Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer for the first-ever visit to Iowa from a sitting Israeli Ambassador to the U.S.
- Bottom line: I am dedicated to advancing the American-Israel relationship, expanding America’s security assistance to Israel, and of course, continuing to support Iowa’s sister state Kosovo.
Now, as a Member of Congress, my support for Israel has not wavered. I am helping lead legislation (H. Res. 409) to condemn the acts of terrorism committed by Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel.
