Making sure every four-legged friend is protected, cared, and loved must be a priority. I don’t need to tell Iowans just how important our dogs are – companions, family members, and truly, our best friends.
In the military, dogs were a critical part of completing our mission. Now, as a member of Congress, I want to put a stop to any dog suffering.
That’s why I am proud to champion new bipartisan legislation, the Greyhound Protection Act, to end greyhound racing across our nation once and for all. This bill would:
- Ban Greyhound racing across the United States.
- End gambling on greyhound racing that exists outside the U.S.
- Prevent the shipment of American-raised greyhounds to other countries for the purpose of dog racing
Iowa led the way to ban this practice, and now I want to make sure the rest of the country follows Iowa’s common sense
