Iowa’s rural communities are the backbone of our state. They are charming towns with a strong sense of community, a mission to feed and fuel the world, and honest people working hard every day for a good living.
Unfortunately, when policies in Washington, D.C. are set by those living in big cities on our country’s coasts, rural communities in states like Iowa are often an afterthought. As your representative in Congress, I’m fighting to change that.
Already, in my short time in Congress, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with Iowans in each of our district’s 21 counties. Yesterday, in our Rural Development Subcommittee, I brought the issues I heard about during these meetings to the forefront of conversation in Washington, D.C.
