Passed: I recently voted for a bipartisan bill to strengthen the United States’s relationship with Taiwan and ensure Iowans’ voices are represented when it comes to international trade deals.
Why it matters: Trade agreements can be good for farmers, small businesses, and economic growth if they’re done right. If they’re done wrong, they can be detrimental to our country.
The U.S.-Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade First Agreement Implementation Act (H.R. 4004) passed with strong bipartisan support through the House.
Bottom line: Iowa exports support an estimated 94,000 jobs. This bill will make sure you have a say in future trade agreements and that they’re good for Iowa.
