Kelly and I are wishing you and your family a happy Independence Day!
Today, we celebrate our nation’s independence and remember the high price of freedom.
We remember those, throughout history, who gave their lives to protect the values this nation was founded on.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”
Those words are no less important today than when they were first adopted as part of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
To preserve these freedoms, I’ve served in the U.S. military for nearly two decades. Now, as your Member of Congress, I’ve sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
