Earlier this week, a Member of Congress was carjacked at gunpoint just blocks from the U.S. Capitol.
Let’s be clear: it shouldn’t take an attack on a Member of Congress for the crime wave to make national news. This is happening all across the country.
In the past year, we’ve seen jumps in homicides, aggravated assaults, and other violent crimes. The American people deserve better than lax enforcement policies that are letting violent criminals off the hook.
Here’s what I’m doing to help combat this danger:
- Passing legislation to back the blue by overturning soft on crime policies.
- Passing legislation making penalties for illegal fentanyl possession and sales harsher.
- Helping introduce legislation to combat violent crime and stop illegal immigration.
- Leading bipartisan legislation to stop domestic terror attacks.
- Champion bipartisan legislation to protect children online.
