While we always Back the Blue in Iowa, rural police departments often struggle to compete with larger departments for federal resources. That’s why I’m championing the Invest to Protect Act which would create competitive grants exclusively to support small police departments.
These resources help with recruitment and retention, training, and mental health support for police officers. We can’t leave our rural communities behind. The Invest to Protect Act ensures rural police departments have the resources to keep us safe.
