The made-for-tv chaos that engulfed D.C. for the past few weeks is finally over, and we’re getting back to business as quickly as possible. We just passed our resolution to condemn Hamas for their barbaric attacks in Israel.
But that’s not all we’re doing. Today in the House Financial Services Committee, we discussed steps Congress can take to hold Iran accountable for its role in funding Hamas to perpetrate acts of terrorism. My bill, the Revoke Iranian Funding Act, addresses both the immediate and future concerns related to Iran and its funding of global terrorism by permanently freezing the $6 billion in Iranian assets to prevent Iran from financing future terrorist activities.
Bottom line: The U.S. must respond with strength and unequivocable support for our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel. We cannot abandon her during her moment of need.
