Hamas started a war with Israel, barbarically launching surprise attacks against the Israeli people, three weeks ago. Thousands have been killed, taken hostage, or lost their homes as a result of these attacks – including American citizens.
Since then, I have been working on multiple fronts to respond:
I have fought to help Iowans trapped there get a safe return home, even when the State Department won’t do what’s needed to get the job done.
I’ve also worked in Congress to hold Hamas and their backers in Iran accountable. We’ve passed legislation cutting off funding for Hamas’s financial supporters, and I’ve introduced legislation to freeze $6 billion in Iranian assets that could otherwise be used to finance terrorism.
Just today, I voted to pass emergency funding to help Israel defend herself against these acts of terror.
Bottomline: I’ll keep fighting to ensure the United States stands unequivocally with Israel and no American is left behind.
