On this Small Business Saturday, I wanted to take a moment to mention the importance of shopping local this holiday season!
Small businesses are the backbone of our communities: they sponsor charity events, create jobs, and help our Main Streets remain vibrant. Each and every dollar spent at a small business makes a difference. Most importantly, the men and women who own these organizations are Iowans and our neighbors.
Please join me and show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our community’s entrepreneurs by shopping small this holiday season!
For me, supporting small businesses isn’t just a slogan; it’s a mission. That’s why, in Congress, I’m working to support Iowa’s entrepreneurs by:
- Working to reduce red tape for small businesses that is making it harder for job creators in Iowa to turn the key in the door every morning, including introducing the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Act.
- Improving access to resources for small businesses in rural communities by passing the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act.
- Fighting to lower inflation that is making input costs more expensive and driving up prices for consumers, including by passing the REIN IN Act and the REINS Act.
- Improving infrastructure and internet access in rural Iowa to support Iowa’s small businesses, including introducing the Revitalizing Rural Communities Act and the ReConnecting Rural America Act.
