The situation at the southern border is impacting Iowans more than 1,000 miles away thanks to the flow of illicit drugs, like fentanyl, that is making it to every corner of our country.
That’s why, during my short time in Congress, I’ve led the fight to secure our border, including:
- Preventing illegal immigration by passing the aptly named Secure The Border Act.
- Leading specifically on the issue of combatting fentanyl by spearheading multiple bills to cut off funding being used for fentanyl trafficking.
This week, the House of Representatives took action on another facet of this problem: the use of taxpayer funding to house illegal immigrants on federal land.
The Protecting Our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act will prohibit this abuse of taxpayer funds to ensure that Iowans are not being forced to pay yet another bill for the crisis at the Southern Border:
