There is a challenge growing in our rural communities that we must address now to prevent it from getting any worse. Our country is suffering from a shortage of affordable housing, especially as inflation reaches record highs.
President Biden just signed my Promote Affordable Housing Act, which I introduced in February, into law! This bipartisan law helps combat this challenge by modernizing a program at the USDA to help local governments and non-profits build housing for low- and moderate-income families.
Our small towns have so much room to grow, and this new law will help expand our communities.
