Today I spent time meeting with Iowans throughout our community, including in Polk County.
I stopped by the Anderson Erickson Dairy in Des Moines to learn more about their work to help put milk on Iowans’ kitchen tables. Today’s behind-the-scenes look helped to paint a picture of just how critical Iowa’s dairy farmers are to supporting every family.
As your Congressman, I’ve fought to support Iowa’s dairy farmers by:
- Passing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, ensuring kids have whole milk as an option at school lunch
- Voting for certainty for farmers by passing a full-year extension of critical agricultural programs
- Demanding transparency from bureaucrats at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the Dairy Margin Coverage Program
- Bringing their voice to the table during Farm Bill negotiations as a member of the House Agriculture Committee
