In the Air Force, I learned that no successful mission can be completed alone. That’s why I’m committed to reaching across the aisle to work with those who are willing to roll up their sleeves, have hard conversations, and find real solutions to the problems that face Iowa families.
This week, the non-partisan Lugar Center and McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University announced its bipartisan ratings for Members of Congress. I’m grateful that our work was recognized as one of the top ten most bipartisan Members of Congress!
Here are a few key stats about my work for you:
- More than 80% of the bills I have introduced have garnered bipartisan support.
- I am a cosponsor of more than 110 bills introduced by Democrats.
- Nearly 90% of the bills I’ve helped pass have been bipartisan.
Bottom Line: While partisan bickering is often what grabs headlines, I’m proud of the difference we’ve been able to make for Iowa families by working in a bipartisan way.
