Next year, Iowa families are at risk of seeing a 22% tax increase if Congress doesn’t act. We cannot allow that to happen. This Administration’s tax-and-spend agenda is already making it more difficult for Iowans to make ends meet – costing Iowa families nearly $12,000 extra each year due to inflation.
Let me be clear: Strengthening the economy starts by ensuring Iowans have more of their hard-earned money in their pockets. When that happens, they spend it on their families and invest in our communities – growing our local economy. That’s why when I served in the state legislature, I helped pass the largest tax cuts in state history.
Today, I joined the House Ways and Means Committee for a Field Hearing at the Iowa State Fair! By taking the conversations out of the beltway and into the corn belt, the committee heard directly from Iowa farmers, parents, and small businesses about the critical need to keep taxes low.
Bottom Line: Iowa families are already struggling. We can’t allow unnecessary, exorbitant taxes to knock them down even further.
