More and more Iowans are struggling with substance abuse. It’s a growing problem – but Polk County is trying to do something to address it now.
Later this year, Polk County will open a first-of-its-kind Life Services Center to provide mental health and substance abuse support for struggling Iowans. The hope is that this community-based resource center will provide crisis intervention when Iowans need it most and help them avoid a costly emergency room visit.
This project will make a real difference in our community – and that’s why I announced a $750,000 federal investment in the Polk County Life Services Center today. Want to learn more? Watch the announcement here! ⬇️
