In the face of terror in 2001, when enemies sought to dismantle our ideals, America came together to defend freedom, democracy, and hope.
After 9/11, our country rose from the ashes, united in our commitment to honor those we lost and protect our nation. Like many others, I felt the call to serve and deployed three times to the Middle East. During those years, I flew hundreds of combat hours and witnessed the strength and determination of those who fought for freedom, even in the harshest conditions.
Even in the darkest times, this day reminds us never to underestimate America’s resolve. Our nation’s greatest strength lies in its ability to rise, rebuild, and progress toward a better future. As we reflect today, I invite you to join me in remembering the resilience of America and the unwavering courage it takes to stand together for what it means to be an American.
