Today is a solemn day. One year ago, Hamas launched a barbaric and unprovoked attack on Israel – killing hundreds and taking many as hostages, including U.S. citizens. Since then, the conflict has only escalated with Iran launching unprecedented missile strikes against Israel, and Hamas brutally murdering hostages, including an American.
There is no question – the United States must stand unequivocally with our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel, and support her right to defend herself against acts of terrorism.
Since that horrific day that took countless innocent lives, I’ve led the charge to stand up and fight for Israel by:
- Showing full support for Israel as they dealt with the aftermath of the attack on October 7, 2023
- Holding Iran accountable for providing financial support to Hamas and funding acts of terrorism against our ally
- Bringing home Iowans trapped in Israel following the attacks, even when the State Department wouldn’t do what was needed to get the job done
- Establishing a strategic partnership with Israel to bolster their military defense with state-of-the-art U.S. technology
Let me be clear: The United States must be unwavering in our commitment to support Israel’s right to defend herself. Congress must stand righteously against the Iranian regime of terror. We cannot abandon our strongest ally in the Middle East in her time of need.
