College is expensive. As a dad with a soon-to-be college freshman, I’m learning a lot about the costs, expected and unexpected, that students navigate as they decide what step to take for their future.
FAFSA helps students navigate the complex financial aid process to afford tuition and meet their basic needs. In the past four years, FAFSA launched late or has been plagued with errors.
That’s why today, I voted for the FAFSA Deadline Act which will give students, families, and schools much-needed clarity by ensuring the FAFSA is released and fully operational by October 1 each year. This will ensure every student can carefully consider their education options before making final decisions.
Bottom Line: Every student should understand their options when it comes to future education, and this bill will help set students up for success.
