Each month, Kelly and I sit down with our checkbook to review our budget. We set aside money to pay for groceries, clothes for our kids, our mortgage, and set some aside for a rainy day. It’s not rocket science – and it’s something families, farms, and Main Street businesses do across Iowa. We work hard, live within our means, and use Iowa common sense to provide for our families.
Why can’t the federal government do the same? Reckless spending by the Biden-Harris Administration cost Iowa families more than $26,000 over the past two years. That’s unacceptable.
To cut back wasteful federal spending, I just introduced a balanced budget amendment so that the government stops spending more than it has. The truth is, both parties have been guilty of running up America’s tab, and it’s time for us to work together to put a stop to it. This bill will do just that.
Bottom Line: Iowa We can’t wait any longer to get our debt and spending under control.
