As a dad of five girls, nothing is more important to me than keeping them safe, supporting their futures, and encouraging their happiness.
Every girl who dreams of participating in sports deserves the right to compete on a level playing field. Allowing biological men to compete against biological women undermines the ability for women to compete fairly and successfully. We simply cannot ignore the differences between biological men and women.
Unfortunately, the Biden Administration’s decisions put women’s sports at every level in jeopardy. We must protect women’s sports.
That’s why I championed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which passed the House of Representatives today. This critical legislation will:
- Ensure the sex of an individual athlete is based on reproductive biology and genetics at birth.
- Clarify a school receiving federal funding will be in violation of Title IX if they allow a biological male to participate against a biological female.
- Protect a school’s ability for males and females to practice or scrimmage against each other continuing a long-standing tradition for many athletic programs.
Bottom Line: This legislation will pave the way to protect women’s sports for all competitors – from my girls in Little League to the next Caitlin Clark and any level in between.
