We kicked off the week with a great celebration of American democracy and values – and the inauguration of a new president. President Donald J. Trump has already gotten to work delivering on Iowans’ top priorities: securing the border, driving down costs, and bringing some much-needed common sense to our nation’s capital.
On top of celebrating the inauguration, I had a busy week securing big wins for Iowans:
- Putting every American’s safety first by passing legislation to detain illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes against U.S. citizens.
- Keeping more money in Iowans’ pockets by discussing the critical need to keep taxes low with the Ways and Means Committee.
- Improving access to quality, affordable childcare by cosponsoring the CHILD Act, which would give parents more flexibility and financial assistance.
