For generations, Iowa families have worked hard to build and pass down their farms and small businesses. But right now, the federal government’s “Death Tax” unfairly punishes families by forcing them to pay a double tax on their loved one’s life’s work. Instead of keeping the farm in the family, many are forced to sell land just to cover the tax bill.
That’s why I’m cosponsoring bipartisan legislation to permanently repeal the Death Tax and ensure family farms and small businesses stay in the family. The Death Tax Repeal Act is just common sense – and we need to make this change in the law as soon as possible.
Bottom Line: Iowa families shouldn’t have to choose between keeping their legacy or paying the “Death Tax.” I’ll keep fighting to protect family businesses and for the next generation to hold onto their generational farms.
