America’s veterans are heroes – willing to put their lives on the line to defend and protect our values. In Congress, I’m fighting to ensure those who have gone above and beyond for our nation receive the recognition and support they deserve. That’s why I voted today to increase the pension for Medal of Honor recipients. These heroes have risked everything for our country and should receive the benefits they’ve earned.
Earlier this year, I was honored to visit Bedford to present long-overdue medals to Edward Johnson, a WWII veteran. Edward’s service, like so many others, is a reminder of the sacrifices our heroes make to protect our freedoms. No veteran should wait decades to receive what they’ve rightfully earned.
