👂Listening to Iowans

I’ve always believed the best solutions come directly from our communities — not Washington D.C. That’s why I sat down with Iowa job creators and small business leaders yesterday for a roundtable focused on one thing: avoiding the largest tax hike in American history.

Why it matters: If Congress fails to extend President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, Iowa families and small businesses will be hit hard.

📈 A 43% tax hike for more than Iowa’s small businesses

💵 A $1,981 tax increase for the average Iowa family

That’s not just a line on a tax return, it’s fewer jobs, slower growth, higher costs for Main Street, and less money in the pockets of hardworking Iowans.

The good news: Congress has time to act — and I’m fighting to make sure Iowa’s voice is heard in this year’s tax package.

Here’s what we’re fighting for to power growth and let Iowans keep more of their hard-earned paychecks:

✅ Doubling the adoption tax credit
✅ Extending the child tax credit
✅ Continuing renewable energy tax credits
✅ Creating a new tax credit for domestic infant formula
✅ Repealing the death tax for family farms and small businesses

Bottom Line: Iowa families and job creators deserve a tax code that rewards hard work. That means protecting what’s working — and fixing what isn’t.
