Iowa leads the nation in biofuel production. In 2022 alone, our renewable fuel innovators supported 60,000 jobs and added more than $70 billion to our economy.
Why it matters: Iowa’s ag economy has the potential to grow by 70% over the next decade — but we need federal programs that keep pace with the innovation already happening in our communities.

That’s why I introduced the Ag BIO Act, a bipartisan bill to modernize federal support and invest in the next generation of bio-based energy, fuels, and manufacturing.
The Ag BIO Act will:
✅ Deliver $100 million in direct investment for biorefineries
✅ Streamline the loan process for new biotech
✅ Launch a competitive grant program for ultra-low-carbon biofuels
✅ Prioritize rural development, American energy independence, and scalability
Bottom Line: Iowa is ready to lead America’s clean energy future — and this bill makes sure federal investment matches our innovation.
