🌾 Delivering for Iowa Farmers

Iowa’s farmers and rural communities don’t have time to wait on Congress.

Washington hasn’t passed a Farm Bill in nearly seven years. In that time, farm income has dropped 23% while uncertainty has left producers guessing what to plant and whether they’ll make a profit come the fall.

Why it matters: Without clear policy and strong safety nets, Iowa producers are flying blind, jeopardizing both America’s food supply and our competitive edge.

That’s why today’s markup on the House Agriculture Committee is so important. We’re advancing targeted support for Iowa’s farmers to boost crop insurance, open up new markets, and ensure the next generation of Iowa producers are equipped to compete. Watch my remarks below👇

Here’s what the bill will do:

✅ Increase support for crop insurance and risk management tools
✅ Expand market access opportunities for ag exports
✅ Protect livestock with historic biosecurity investments
✅ Put conservation programs to work on Iowa land
✅ Crack down on waste in SNAP while protecting benefits for kids, seniors, and the disabled

Bottom Line: Iowa’s farmers feed the world. They aren’t asking for a handout — just a fair shot. We’re fighting to give them one.
