National Police Week is a time to honor the brave men and women who put on the uniform and step into harm’s way to keep our communities safe.
This week, we remember Des Moines Officer Phoukham Tran, a hero who served for over 20 years before his passing in 2023, and the more than 24,000 officers nationwide who gave their lives in the line of duty.
In Washington, we’re backing the blue by leading legislation to:
✅ Boost local law enforcement hiring and strengthen resources for sheriffs, especially in rural areas
✅ Track attacks on law enforcement and expand mental health resources for officers
✅ Ensure retired and active duty officers can carry a firearm wherever they go
Bottom Line: We ask our officers to show up for us every day. In Congress, I’ll keep working across the aisle to equip our officers with the tools, training, and support they need.
