💊 Fighting Fentanyl

Fentanyl is now the number one killer of Americans — from my son’s high school classmates to parents my age.

In 2023 alone, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than 20,000 pounds of fentanyl — enough to kill 4 billion people.

Zoom in: We worked with President Trump to boost border enforcement and drug seizures, and now crossings are down 92% since last July.

But the fentanyl crisis doesn’t stop at the southern border. It begins with chemical precursors manufactured in China, shipped to Mexican cartels, and then funneled across the border into U.S. communities — including right here in Iowa.

That’s why we’re working across the aisle to hold fentanyl producers accountable, no matter where they are around the world.

The House just passed our Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act to

🚫 Designate Chinese individuals and entities as foreign opioid traffickers

💰 Sanction CCP producers, financiers, and shippers tied to fentanyl

🌐 Expand law enforcement tools and boost international cooperation to combat synthetic opioid production around the world

Bottom Line: From securing the border to targeting China’s fentanyl supply chain, we’re leading the fight to keep deadly drugs out of Iowa and protect our families.
