💪 Fighting for Healthy Hometowns

Iowa’s rural hospitals are lifelines — treating emergencies, delivering babies, and keeping care close to home. That’s why I’m fighting to make sure they receive their fair share of the $50 billion I helped secure through our Working Families Tax Cuts this summer.

The problem: That funding doesn’t automatically come to Iowa. Each state has to apply directly to the federal government and make the case for why its rural community health programs deserve investment.

The solution: Iowa’s Healthy Hometowns plan is the gold standard — it expands telehealth, deploys mobile clinics to underserved areas, and builds a statewide electronic health records system.

Why it matters: Strong rural health care means fewer barriers, faster treatment, and greater peace of mind for every Iowa family.

What we’re doing: I joined my colleagues in the Iowa delegation to push for $1 billion in funding to support our Healthy Hometowns plan. We’re calling on CMS to approve this critical investment so rural hospitals across the state can:

🩺 Hire and train more doctors, nurses, and medical staff

🏥 Upgrade essential equipment and modernize facilities

🚑 Expand access through mobile clinics and stronger telehealth

🖥️ Build a statewide electronic health record system for faster, better care

Bottom Line: This is a once-in-a-generation investment to strengthen rural health care in Iowa. I’ll keep fighting to make sure this funding makes it home — right here in our communities, where it will save lives and support Iowa families.
