Iowans deserve a government that responds to real-world challenges. Whether it’s a Main Street business buried under duplicative red tape or a senior trying to recover their life savings after a scam, I’ve prioritized working across the aisle to advance solutions that matter.
The problem: Far too often, Washington is focused on winning the partisan battle of the day — drawing lines in the sand instead of setting politics aside and getting things done.
As new technologies create both opportunities and risks, Iowans don’t have time for political games. That’s why I’ve worked with both Republicans and Democrats to fund the government in regular order — securing key wins for Iowa families along the way.
In this week’s funding package alone, we delivered:
✅ Relief for small businesses by pausing costly new reporting mandates
🔐 Protection for scam victims through stronger enforcement against financial fraud
📵 Accountability for robocalls and AI-driven spam by prioritizing enforcement and transparency
🌍 Coordination across the government to create a national strategy to crack down on digital fraudsters
Why it matters: It’s no secret there are deep divisions in Washington — but this week is proof we can still work together to deliver commonsense solutions that make a real difference for families back home.
Bottom Line: When we focus on solving real problems instead of political theater, we can deliver real results — and make Washington work a little more like Iowa.
