🌽 Certainty for Iowa Farmers

Iowa is home to 87,000 family farms — and every one of them has to make tough decisions each year in an unpredictable market with rising input costs.

That’s why we delivered $66 billion in investments for Iowa farmers through our Working Families Tax Cuts — packed with priorities we fought for to give producers the certainty they need to plan ahead:

🌾 Stronger farm safety net when markets turn or yields fall

📈 Updated reference prices that reflect today’s production costs

🌍 Expanded trade and export programs to open new markets

🌽 More certainty for Iowa biofuels through the expanded 45Z tax credit

Why 45Z matters: I fought to deliver this credit because Iowa producers should be recognized for the best practices they’re already using — efforts that promote land conservation, boost yields, and strengthen America’s clean, homegrown energy supply.

The problem: Even after Congress acted, Washington delays left farmers and biofuel producers guessing how 45Z would actually work in practice and whether the decisions they were making would qualify.

The good news: After working directly with the Treasury Department, we secured guidance that puts Iowa producers first:

 🌾 Iowa-grown crops clearly qualify

🏭 Biofuel producers have certainty to invest and expand

🧾 Standards reflect real-world farm practices

🇺🇸 Domestic, American-grown feedstocks are prioritized

What’s next: I’ll stay engaged to make sure these rules are implemented in a way that works for Iowa producers.

Bottom Line: Iowa farmers deserve certainty. I’ll keep fighting to cut red tape and make sure Washington never stands in the way of Iowa’s leadership in feeding and fueling the world.
