💸 Investing in Iowa’s Future

I learned very early on that the best ideas in Congress don’t come from Washington, they come from back home.

Across Iowa, local leaders, nonprofits, and community organizations know exactly what their towns need to grow and succeed. My job is to make sure local leaders have a voice in Washington, so federal dollars are invested where they’re needed most.

The result: We’ve delivered nearly $17 million for 14 projects across Iowa that expand access to child care, strengthen education, and support long-term economic growth.

The big picture: This builds on the work we’ve led to make Washington more accountable and focused on results. Instead of relying on top-down mandates from federal bureaucrats, we’re putting local priorities first and ensuring federal dollars end up helping the folks that pay taxes in the first place.

Why it matters: Every one of these projects started with an Iowa community identifying a real need and bringing it forward. That’s how federal investment should work: local priorities drive the funding, and the results show up where families live and work.

What we’ve already delivered:

👶 $2.5 million for a new child development center in Atlantic — serving up to 300 children in a childcare desert, creating 100 new jobs, and boosting the local economy by $48 million

🏫 $400,000 for community development — expanding year-round education and tourism at one of Iowa’s most iconic landmarks

What’s next: We’re continuing to work with communities across Iowa to break ground on 12 more projects that we’re excited to announce with our local partners in the months ahead.

Bottom Line: The best ideas don’t start in Washington — they start in Iowa. I’ll keep fighting to make sure the communities doing the work get the federal support to make it happen.
